DIVISION 1 INTERPRETATION

INTERPRETATION

O.C. 961-2002, s. 5; O.C. 294-2008, s. 1.

    1. In this Chapter, unless the context indicates otherwise, “Code” means the “National Plumbing Code of Canada 2010” (NRCC 53302) and the “Code national de la plomberie – Canada 2010” (CNRC 53302F), published by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes, National Research Council of Canada, as well as all subsequent amendments that may be published by that organization.

Despite the foregoing, amendments published after 29 April 2014 apply to construction work only as of the date that is the last day of the sixth month following the month of publication of the French text of the amendments.

      O.C. 961-2002, s. 5; O.C. 120-2006, s. 9; O.C. 294-2008, s. 1; O.C. 939-2009, s. 4; O.C. 30-2014, s. 1.

      In Plain Language

This clause defines what 'Code' means throughout this plumbing chapter: the National Plumbing Code of Canada 2010 (and its French-language equivalent), including later amendments, though amendments published after April 29, 2014 only take effect for construction work starting the last day of the sixth month after the amendment's French text is published.

This is a plain-language summary of the Quebec Construction Code text above, for general understanding only and not a substitute for the Code. Always confirm current requirements against the official Publications Quebec text or a qualified professional before construction.
